The Department of medicine at the BCM Hospital provides curative services to a range of medical conditions. It has a designated wad for separate male & female patients, hepatic and tuberculosis patients. The department also has private & Semi-Private wards. BCM Hospital’s Department of medicines also run a full-fledged OPD where over 150 patient seek care for a variety of medical diseases, daily. It is also augmented by an intensive care unit of 12 beds and a hemo-dialysis unit.

The Department is equipped to handle most of the medical conditions with special emphasis on:

• Diabetes and related diseases.

• Tuberculosis and Chest Infections.

• Hepatic diseases- Viral Hepatitis, Alcoholic Liver diseases ets.

• Other tropical & Infectious diseases like- HIV, malaria, dengue, filariasis, sexually transmitted infections etc.

The department also runs a dedicated Hepatic Clinic with an aim to educated hepatic patients and their families, promote hepatitis vaccination and provide long term care of hepatitis patient by developing personalized treatment plan.
